Biography

Gafar. T. Ijaiya is a Professor of Economics (Development Economics), in the Department of Economics, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Since joining the University in 1997, Prof. Ijaiya has served in different capacities as Ag. Head of Department (Department of Economics), Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief of the Ilorin Journal of Economic Policy, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and the Director, of Unilorin Business School. He has also served as an External Assessor/Examiner to several Universities in Nigeria, a Member National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation team to several Universities in Nigeria, Special Assistant to the Project Coordinator, Policy Analysis and Research Project of the Nigerian National Assembly, Abuja, External Reviewer to the Pakistan Economic and Social Review, a Journal of the Department of Economics, University of Lahore, Pakistan and Co-Award Winner of the 2007 UNESCO Small Grants Programme on Poverty Eradication (Building National Capacities for Research and Policy Analysis) UNESCO, Paris.
